Sony has launched the CPF-IX001 wireless music player. The compact music player features high-powered micro-speakers and a subwoofer and can be easily networked with a PC using a wireless 802.11 b/g access point for direct playback of music files in the hard drive. After loading the supplied M-crew software, the product just needs power, an 802.11 b/g access point, and an Ethernet connection, automatically configuring to a home network. Once connected, the player will creates it own IP address thereby creating a home network and multiple players can join the network and stream music wirelessly from the networked PC. The system automatically searches and detect for music files when connected to a network for simple content navigation by disc, artist and genre. The player also can create a play list that can be accessed via remote control.

The latest MP3 player from Cowon, the sleek and sexy iAudio T2 which is available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities. It boasts a 65k color OLED display with an integrated FM Tuner, 23+23 mW Output power @ 16 Ohms with a s/n ratio of 95dB and up to 12 hours of continuous playback. It measures 29 x 52.6 x 13.5 mm and weight 24.5gram. The availability and pricing are still unknown.

Apple announced the released of the new ipod U2 Special Edition as art of a continued partnership between Apple, U2 and Universal Music Group (UMG). The new U2 iPod is based on the fifth generation 30GB iPod and holds up to 7,500 songs, 25,000 photos or over 75 hours of video and features a distinctive, all-black stainless steel enclosure, red Click Wheel and custom engraving of U2 band member signatures. U2 iPod customers will also receive 30 minutes of exclusive U2 video downloadable from the iTunes Music Store.

JVC-Victor has just released two new audio player, the XAC109 which have 1GB memory and XA-C59 with 512MB memory. Both of the player support MP3, WMV and WM DRM 10 (Window Media). Both of the devices also have an integrated FM tuner and also USB connection for easy file transfer. Its 44 x 11.7 x 86mm in dimension and 49gram in weight. We are not sure when it will be available in the market.

LG has recently announced their new MFJM53 audio player. It features an 8GB of internal storage and 1.77-inch OLED display with 262K colors. It supports MP3, WMA, Ogg, MPEG 4, AVI, and JPEG. It also has a built in FM tuner and onboard microphone with a line-in port for recording. Weight at 88gram and measuring only 10.1 x 4.8 x 1.4 cm it will not take up too much space. Price and availability is still unknown.

Sony Korea presented its new 24gram lightweight MP3P “NW-E00″ series. It comes with 5 colors; pink, blue, violet, black and green. It has USB connector and it have playback time of 3 hours per 3 minutes charge and 28 hours of playback per 1 hour charge. mobiBLU has revealed its new MP3 player the DHH-200 which measures just 91.5mm x 53.8mm x 14.8mm and 8 gram in weight. Its not really a small one. It features a 8Gbytes of HDD storage with a1.8 inch 260K (160 x 128) TFT screen. It supports Layer 1/2/2.5 MP3、WMA、OGG、ASF, JPEG media files, FM Tuner, LDB format lyric display and 12 hours of music play is way enough. I think at the moment, its only available in China. Not sure about the price at the moment.
