Here’s dangerous news flocking around, and I guess Steve Jobs should be having a meeting with his iPhone team already. It’s called “Glassgate”, or “Backgate”, or “Shattergate”. Anything that you like. Engadget called them “Glass-That-Shatters-If-Scratched-By-A-Casegate.” Slightly too long actually. A dude by the name of Ryan Block has posted a story on gdgt citing sources “inside and outside Apple” claiming that Apple has discovered a different flaw in its iPhone 4 designs. The basic problem seems to be with non-bumper cases, specifically ones that slide on to the phone, and the danger of trapped particles scratching the back of the phone while taking the case on and off. Case-caused scratches are nothing new, but the big problem seems to be that these scratches can lead to cracking and even full-on shattering of the back panel. Apparently this lead to Apple severely limiting its reselling efforts of third party cases for a time, if you had noticed. Yes, Apple might have some third party cases online and in its stores, however none of the hard cases are of the slide-on variety. Apple also purportedly has a new test program set up to understand this specific issue.

Is Google too kind and sincere? Or felt pity and sympathy for the Apple fags that missed out the awesomeness of the Google Goggle?
Ten months after the first public build of Goggles hit the Android Market; the same amazingly cool app is now making waves on the iPhone. Rather than being a standalone app, Goggles is being wrapped into a new version of the Google Mobile App; users simply tap on the camera button to search using Goggles. Read more…
Cannot comprehend what you’ve just saw? This is an umbilical cord-inspired charger cable by interactive media artist Mio I-zawa, which comes to life when it is connected to an iPhone. Besides gobbling up your iPhone, it also gave your iPhone some juice.
Moleskine has just announced their new Digital Covers case lineup for your iDevices. But the funny part is, these cases even come with a regular writing pad, or notebook paper, and a slot for either your iPad or iPhone. They somehow increase your intelligence by over nine thousand. Might be relevant for your iPad, but I don’t see the same for your iPhone. Talking on a book? No thanks!
Have you ever thought how safe your iPhone is? No biggie if you jailbreak it? Many people use their iPhone for many purposes. Business, online, Facebook, emails, online shopping. You name it; most probably iPhone can do it. But what if suddenly people tell you that it’s not safe to do it? Read more…
Now this is awesome fashion. German designer Dayne Jewell thinks that an oversized leather holster would be great to hold your gadgets, keys, cigarettes, credit cards, headphones and your Colt 45, and not get robbed. Well, looking at the photos, it seems he’s absolutely right. Now the big question: How do you sit without taking it off?
Denon showed off their new lineup during last week’s CEDIA show, and among them stands one RCD-N7, which is able to play along with Apple’s latest AirPlay technology. The $599 unit coupled with a pair of $199 SC-N7 speakers features an iPhone dock (or USB jack) for local music sourcing. Otherwise, it’ll stream audio from the likes of Rhapsody, Napster, Pandora and Last.fm. There’s even a Party Mode Plus setting for a five-system multi-zone setup scattered throughout the home, all managed by Denon’s new iPod / iPhone / iPad Remote App. Look for it to hit shelves in October. One sad thing is, if you are an Apple fan and wants it to play along with AirPlay, you’ll need to fork out additional $49.
Apple has just released Remote app version 2.0 for iPhone and iPad, which adds in support for the new iOS-based Apple TV in addition to iTunes on OS X. The interface mostly stays the same – a trackpad-like screen for ATV remote control and an iPod-like interface for more direct media playback — but it’s now augmented for the Retina display on the iPhone 4 and the larger screen size of the iPad. No more pixelated screen. Since the new Apple TV is streaming-only, Remote also now has better support for controlling shared music libraries, making remote control of iTunes on your HTPC slightly easier as well. It’s available now and it’s gratis.
