Sony officially launched the Sony Alpha A100 D-SLR which features a 10MP CCD with Super Steady Shot image stabilization built-in, anti dust technology, eye start auto focusing and a 9-point auto focusing system. It also sports a 2.5-inch TFT LCD for image playback and menu navigation, supports Memory Stick Duo/Memory Stick Pro Duo and CompactFlash/Microdrives, USB2, and 1600 mAH battery. It has a shutter speed of 30 ~ 1/4000 sec with ISO up to 1600.

One more product from Oregon Scientific, the 3.0 megapixel thincam digital camera with cradle, DS-6310 which has a built-in flash, 4x digital zoom and a 1.5-inch color TFT screen. The 3.o megapixel CMOS sensor can support up to 2032 x 1524 pixel resolution which can be saved on the 16MB internal memory. It supports SD cards for extra storage. JXD China will soon released a new slim and cute digital camera which will only hit the Chinese market, the JXD-662 which features a 2.4-inch wide TFT display with 130K colors support and 512MB of internal memory with SD/MMC memory card slot up to 2GB. It also has pre-installed audio player software to play MP3 and MP4 supported files. The availability and pricing is still unknown. We will keep you update.

We missed this! Since last few days, Ricoh has announced the new Caplio R40 which features a 6.0 megapixel intake with a 7.1x (280200mm) optical wide zoom lens. The R40 houses a 5.7x (28-160 mm) wide-angle, high-powered zoom lens in its compact, 26-mm deep body with a 350 shot battery. Available June, 2006 in Black only. Picture after the jump.

Pentax introduced two new models of its digital SLR cameras. The 6.1 mega pixel Pentex K100D and Pentax K110D, Along with the two new cameras, Pentax is also announcing the PENTAX DA 21mm F3.2 AL Limited wide angle lens. This is Microsoft RingCam which is an omnidirectional camera that is able to captures 360-degrees of video. It is made by putting on cheap 1394 digital cameras (640 x 480 each). Images from each camera are combined in real-time to form one large panorama pic. It will be released very soon, and it has higher resolution (3000 x 480) compare to the OmniCam.
