The Firefly’s glowPhone R100 has just received the FCC approval. As you can see, this phone is specially made for kids. This is a basic phone used for call and text messaging only. It doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity, they gotta use wired headset. The glowPhone R100 has a flashlight mode that gives you light during black-out. No words on pricing and availability.

Here are the live shots of Samsung Serenata SGH-F310. According to gsmhelpdesk.nl, it is the next premium phone in the Bang & Olufsen range. Serenata comes with 4GB built in memory, and a click wheel similar with the iPod for managing your playlist. It screen is placed below the dial pad which is pretty odd and you can slide up the phone to reveal its large speaker. Virgin Mobile USA has released their first Bluetooth handset with UTStarcom called the Super Slice. It has a VGA camera with 3x zoom and all the basic functions that a phone has. The Super Slice measures only 0.4 inches thin with a height of 4.4″ and width of 1.9″ and weighs at just 2.5 ounces. The Virgin Mobile Super Slice comes with an affordable introductory price of $59.99 and will hit stores this mid-September.

Microvision has signed an agreement with Motorola to develop the pico projector display solutions for future Motorola products, called PicoP. It is an ultra-miniature laser based display engine that will enable big screen viewing for mobile devices. The details of agreement were not disclosed, however both of them will work together to make a PicoP-enabled prototype phone for demo purpose.
