This World First Gold Plated Porsche is coated with gold LEAF actually, not gold plate. One booklet of 100 sheets of 3.5″ x 3.5″ gold leaf (24 carat) may not cost more than $60-$100 US. In one of the picture, a technician has applied about 25 sheets of gold leaf to the left front fender. Assuming that it takes 100 sheets to coat the entire fender, and one fender equals about 10% of the surface area of the car, I think it will cost not more than $1000 to finish the gold leaf on the car. Brabus has unveiled a new 730hp ” SV12 S Biturbo Roadster” based on the Mercedes SL 600. It boost from 0-60 in just 4.0-seconds and reach a top speed of 219mph. The displacement of the twelve-cylinder three-valve engine is increased from 5.5 to 6.3 liters with the help of a billet steel crankshaft, larger cylinder bore, special pistons and piston rods. Pimp a 1955 Ride

RM Auctions will be offering the Beatnik, a custom-pimped BUBBLETOP 1955 FORD from designer Gary “Chopit” Fioto in Monterey, California, August 18. It’s a vision of the future from the past, but you can buy it now. They took four years to modify this car, and include Cadillac and Lincoln components. The car’s estimated value will be around $350,000 – $450,000.

Hulme Supercar

New Zealand firm Super Cars LTD saying that their Hulme Supercar will go into production in 2008, according to gizmag. Jock Frematle told the publication that the human which has been previewed over a year would be built in a limited production of 20 – 30 units. The car will have a 550hp BMW V8 from the previous generation M5 and will weigh about 2600 pound. Visually, this car is inspired by a F1 racer so its name is tribute to Denny Hulme which is one of a greatest race car driver in New Zealand. Barabus TKR takes over as the world's fastest car

Barabus officially unveiled the new TKR with 1005 horsepower supercar. The automaker says is capable of boosting up from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.67 seconds. The car reportedly has a top speed of 270 mph — nearly 20 more than the Bugatti Veyron. Power comes from a 6.0 liter V8 twin-turbocharged with dual intercoolers and the car has a full carbon fibre body and chassis. Tesla Roadster Unveiled

The high-performance roadster, the Tesla Roadster launched by Independent Silicon Valley-based automaker Tesla. Tesla Roadster is an all-electric car capable of accelerating to 60 mph in just 4 seconds, while offering equivalent mileage of 135 mph, and a 250 mile range. High-performance roadster is capable of hanging with a Ferrari F430, Porsche Carrera S, or BMW M5. The car has a top speed of 130 mph, the automaker said. Funding came from several big names in the technology world, including Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Availability of the Tesla Roadster in the United States is expected to begin next summer.
