A Toronto-based retoucher and illustrator, Neal Bridgen, have found a piece of copper tubing on his workbench which fit perfectly around the round edges of the iPod, so he turn his iPod into steampunk.

“The whole thing is created from scratch, just base copper and brass
stock (rod, sheet and wire), with the exception of the two copper
edges that started it all, they are just household copper pipe. It’s
all hand cut and filed to shape, plus some smithing. You can see the
back plate is planished to give it that texture.”

Last two days on the March 17, 2009, Apple has presented the blueprint for iPhone OS 3.0, the next version of the world’s most advanced mobile platform. To promote its new features, Apple gave members of the iPhone Developer Program immediate access to the iPhone OS 3.0 software beta and an update Software Development Kit (SDK) with over 1,000 completely new APIs. When the iPhone 3 OS arrives this summer, it will introduce over a hundred new features which include the ability to: search your iPhone, cut/copy/paste, send photos/contact/audio files/location via mms, and read/compose email and text message in landscape. Find out more here.

Here are more info about the iPhone in Taiwan, looks like there are changes from the previous announcement. I thought they supposed to have it on the 13th December according to previous news. But anyway, they will be able to get it this Saturday and it’s an Apple iPhone 3G unlocked. This contract-free iPhone 3G will be available via Chunghwa Telecom, priced at NT$26,600 (US$800) for the 8GB and NT$29,900 ($901) for the 16GB. You can also get it with two-year contract but CHT will require a refundable deposit of up to NT$24,000 ($725). Yeah, unlocked iPhone is always that price, $700-800, I saw one last week at the store selling up to $1000.
