Falcom released a device called Samba. It is a extremely useful device which act as a wireless EDGE modem for notebook and UMPC, it allows you to make or receive calls over GSM network and send or receive faxes at the same time. Be sure you insert you SIM card beforehand in order to gain such functionality and remember to eject the SIM card and insert it back to your mobile so that you won’t set your notebook as a primary calling device.

Many UMPC’s on the market today have had some issues watching their Slingbox since the native resolution on all UMPC’s are 800×480. The Sony UX-180p doesn’t fall into this category so the native desktop software works like a charm. Samsung has launched a new UMPC, the Sens Q1 in Europe, Korea and USA market. The Q1 will be launched in CHITEC the largest IT exhibition in China. It features a 7-inch screen with Intel Celeron M 900MHz processor, 40GB of storage and 512MB of memory. Also included are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with DMB tuner, Samsung plan to sell this UMPC for USD1,262.49.

Sony Electronics today introduced the VAIO UX Micro PC, placing full-size computer performance in a pocket-sized package. Weighing just over a pound, the new PC has a Microsoft XP Professional operating system and an Intel Core Solo Ultra Low Voltage CPU for fast processing and long battery life. EO has just unveiled their new UMPC and that is a pretty thin one. The V7110 is just 0.98 inches thick and measures 8.98 x 5.75 inches with the weight of less than 800 gram.
