Sharp has announced their latest North American LCD TV, the D65U series of LCD HDTV’s. It features:

• Native 1080p resolution
• 42″ to 52″ sizes
• Energy Star-compliant
• Active backlight and contrast controls
• Sharp’s Advanced Super View and Black TFT Panel technologies
• 176-degrees viewing angle
• Five HDMI ports
• Two composite inputs
• One S-video, PC-in, and RS-232C

Sony is proud to introduce its sexy world’s thinnest LCD TV, called it Sony KDL-40ZX1. It is a 40-inches LCD TV that measures only at 9.9mm thick and weighs 26 pounds. Featuring LED backlighting, 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 120Hz MotionFlow tech, x.v.Color, BRAVIA Engine 2 image processing and priced only at $4,474 after conversion from ¥. This slimmy will be released in Japan on November 10th, 2008.

LG has launched the ‘Smart Time Machine Special Edition’ today targeting the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, featuring the LG’s Smart Time Machine function where you can pause and rewind LIVE tv. Vizio has announced its new XVT Series LCD TVs, the first two models ~ 42-inch SV420XVT ($1200) and the 47-inch SV470XVT ($1500). Both of them come with 4 HDMI inputs, 1080p resolution with 120Hz operation, Vizio’s Smooth Motion Technology, SRS TruSurround XT technology for virtual 5.1 surround sound, and complementing component, composite, and S-Video inputs. I can imagine I have of this large LCD TV in my room, that will be great.

Samsung Electronics has launched a full HD PDP TV ‘PAVV Cannes 650′ in Korea which comes in 50-inch and 58-inch. Samsung boasts the Cell Light Control feature which makes it support 1,000,000:1 mega-contrast ratio. Samsung also uses the 2008 Ultra Daylight technology and DNIe+(Digital Natural Image engine+) chipset to offer high quality picture. Philips presents their new 132″ display at the IFA that can display 3D pictures without using those 3D glasses. It’s not a “single gigantic flat panel display”, but a combination of nine 42-inch displays on a 3 x 3 grid. With the WOWvx 3-D technology, it tricks your eyes and brain into thinking they’re seeing depth within the room-sized frame. There’s a special lenticular lens device equipped on each of the nine displays and there’s also a sophisticated digital signal processing software and hardware hidden behind the screen. Read more…
