The Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower, inspired by the geometrical order of a snowflake and the aerodynamics of a Formula 1. It is designed by LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture), the first project of a series of branded towers, a new concept by PNYG:COMPANY, a company focused on branding.
The building features an iconic silhouette and a facade characterized by vertical slots with private balconies. A series of reflective fins generates a vertical dynamic and gives the building a constantly changing appearance. The fins track the sun, control the solar shading and dissolve the rationality of the plan into a continuously evolving building volume. The facade’s continuous surface enables curvature with a lot of repetition and the potential for standardization in the building process. State-of-the-art engineering and innovative materials will be used to achieve a fully sustainable performance.
The building will start at the beginning of 2009 and will complete around June 2011.

Do you lose appetite when looking at those head? They don’t eat you, but you eat them! In Ratchaburi, Thailand, a Thai artist Kittiwat Unarrom sells edible sculptures of dismembered human body parts made from bread. Yeah they taste just like normal bread. I just lose my appetite…Ugh! It’s located at my country, at Langkawi, Malaysia. It is called the “Sky Bridge”, a cable-stayed bridge supported by only one support column, suspended at 700 meters above sea level. This unique curved pedestrian bridge spans 125 meters across a spectacular chasm. While the view from the bridge is simply breathtaking, you’d be able to view the Andaman Sea and Thailand’s Tarutao Island as well. The bridge was completed in October 2004, the structure relies on an 87 meter high support column to hold the weight of the deck, this weight distributed through 8 load balancing cables attached to its head. Maybe I should visit one day. Video after the break. Read more…
