World’s Smallest Co-axial Helipcopter

Seiko Epson produces hi-res E-Ink display

Epson Seiko has developed a new E-Ink display applied with their own proprietary TFT design and come out with a 6.7″ e-paper terminal panel with a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 1,600 pixels. The display has a contrast ratio of 8 to 1, 43% reflectivity and a redrawing time of 0.7s. It measures only 3mm thick, weighs 57 grams and powered by one CR1220 button cell battery (1’400 screen redraws). No words on pricing and availability.

Smudge-free screen in process

LG Philips LCD claim to have invented an LCD screen technology for laptops that resist smudges, fingerprints and dirt LIKE TEFLON. LG Philips LCD said the thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panel allows easy removal of dust, smudges, fingerprints and even permanent ink.The company plans to start mass-producing such screens in the second half of next year. Samsung developed world's first 8M CMOS camera module for cellphones

Samsung Electro has developed the world’s first 8M CMOS camera module for the cellphone. It has a CMOS sensor and this 8M camera module measures only 10.5 X 11.5 X 9.4mm. It also supports auto focus. Meaning to say it can still maintain a small form factor similar to the size of current 3M camera phone while offering the performance of 8M camera phone. Samsung gives credit to Peizo technology for this invention and the CMOS modules will be in production next year.

Researchers have developed the net-based Vehicle Arresting System called the “X-Net”, which can be deployed in less than 20-seconds.
