WOW! A 60 year old Japanese man Takahashi-san has begun the mechanical bug in 1998 and currently he owns a fifteen ton robot known as the Kabutom MX-03. It is an eleven meter long monster comes with a control panel and can be remote controlled. Video after the break.

Ice Cream Serving Robot

The Department of Technological Studies at Ohio Northern University has created this ice cream serving robot. It is a part of an extracurricular activity for ONU’s homecoming festivities. They are 26 students working on this project and they completed it at 5 weeks time under the direction of Dr.Adam Stienecker and Professor Rich Miller. The objective is to create a system that would automatically serve ice cream to customer with a selected topping as well as deliver a spoon. It involved mechanical and electrical design so as software development using two industrial robots, a PLC, a vision system, a touch panel and of course an ice cream machine. High-Tech Exoskeleton gives Farmers Extra Power

Researchers from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology have successfully developed a high-tech exoskeleton suit that gives farmer extra strength. This 55-pound weight suit is powered by 8 motors and comes with 16 sensors. It is expected to be priced at between $5,000 and $10,000 when released. Video after the break. Read more…

“Polymythic” has created the Serv O’Beer, a beer pouring machine controlled with iPhone thanks to its accelerometer.

“Using Construx as the mechanical platform, a servo driving the action, and ioBridge controlling the system, I was able to achieve the perfect pour controlled with the turning of my iPhone (using the accelerometer feedback).”

Aiko the Fembot

Le Trung is a 33 year old computer geek from Brampton, Ontario. He didn’t have much luck with dating women so he built himself a fembot. This fembot is given name Aiko, she has 24 movable joints, and she can read newspaper fonts and any words she doesn’t read, she will spell it out. Le said, Aiko doesn’t need holidays, food or rest, and will work almost 24 hours a day. She is the perfect woman. Women usually try to talk to her. But men always want to touch her, and if they do it the wrong way she slaps them. Oh yeah, Aiko has silicone in her entire body and has sensors in her body including her private parts. And yes, she’s still a virgin, according to the site.
