<p>Nokia can’t for the Nokia World next week so they announced their N900 tablet first. This tablet features Linux-based Maemo software and a full touch screen. It is running on the new Maemo 5 software, support multi-tasking and powered by a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. </p>
<p>The Nokia N900 has 32GB built-in storage and can be expandable up to 48GB via microSD slot. Besides that, you got a WVGA resolution touch screen, HSPA and WLAN wireless data connection and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.</p>
<p>The Nokia N900 will be available starting October 2009 in selected market. It comes with an estimated price of EUR 500 excluding sales taxes and subsidies and will be displayed at Nokia World, Stuttgart, on September 2.</p>

It runs on an open source Touch Book OS, but it is also possible for you to install Google Android, Ubuntu, Angstrom, and Windows CE. It’s all well engineered and all chips are covered by soldered –on RF shielding so they cannot be read. At the back of the PCB is all ‘antenna space’ so even the circuit traces cannot be followed. The only thing is that the headphone jack appeared to have one contact on it, but that could just be the mounting solder point or the RF shield.<br />
