TG Sambo has launched a new dual-touchscreen tablet named ‘Averatec PT 1400′ in Korea. The tablet is running on the Windows 7 Home Premium operation system and comes with a 14- and 7-inch touchscreen with LED backlit. It has a suggested price of 1,700,000KRW. ICD (Innovative Converged Device) has announced their new Google Android 2.0-powered touchscreen tablet named Vega. The tablet is powered by an nVidia Tegra processor and comes with 15.6-inch touchscreen display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, a 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth 2.1. Other features include a built-in accelerometer, dual digital microphones, an ambient light sensor and a magnetic dock for charging and syncing the device. The ICD Vega will be launched in 2010.

Archos has announced the new Archos 9 mini Tablet PC. It supports Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition and comes with 8.9-inch tablet PC supports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, Full HD video support, a QWERTY virtual keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel webcam for video conferencing and up to 5-hours of battery life. Available for pre-order, priced at $550.

Nokia can’t for the Nokia World next week so they announced their N900 tablet first. This tablet features Linux-based Maemo software and a full touch screen. It is running on the new Maemo 5 software, support multi-tasking and powered by a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration.

The Nokia N900 has 32GB built-in storage and can be expandable up to 48GB via microSD slot. Besides that, you got a WVGA resolution touch screen, HSPA and WLAN wireless data connection and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The Nokia N900 will be available starting October 2009 in selected market. It comes with an estimated price of EUR 500 excluding sales taxes and subsidies and will be displayed at Nokia World, Stuttgart, on September 2.

The device comes with a 4.3-inch full touchscreen, QWERTY slide keyboard, 3MP camera, GPS function, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth and running on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Touch Book is the combination of netbook and tablet, featuring a detachable keyboard and a 3D touchscreen. It is powered by an ARM processor from Texas Instruments and comes with a 1024 x 600 8.9-inch screen, an 8GB micro SD card for storage, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth, six USB 2.0 ports (both internal and external) and its battery provides you 10 to 15 hours of use. It runs on an open source Touch Book OS, but it is also possible for you to install Google Android, Ubuntu, Angstrom, and Windows CE. The Touch Book is available in May at $300. Samsung has announced the all-in-one WiBro communicator ‘SWT-W100K’ in Korea market that comes with 13 Mbps wireless internet access. The device boasts a 4.3-inch WVGA TFT-LCD touch screen, PMP, T-DMB TV with PIP function and built-in GPS support. It support a variety of video formats include MP4, Xvid, WMA and H.264. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0, 8GB memory, MS word document viewer, USB 2.0, 2-megapixel rear-facing and VGA front-facing camera. It’s all well engineered and all chips are covered by soldered –on RF shielding so they cannot be read. At the back of the PCB is all ‘antenna space’ so even the circuit traces cannot be followed. The only thing is that the headphone jack appeared to have one contact on it, but that could just be the mounting solder point or the RF shield.
