I guess you can consider a massage chair to be high tech when it’s able to link itself to an Apple iPhone or iPad. What claimed by the company to be the world’s first such massaging chair capable to link to iOS devices, this AcuTouch 9500 by Human Touch will let you control the intensity of your massage session via a free HT-Connect app on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Just to give you more bang for the buck, there are also downloadable massage programs that are individually customized by doctors and sport stars – most of which you’ve probably never heard of, just to compensate you for buying this ridiculous gimmick. But they haven’t thought of how much they wish to scam you with this, yet so there’s no mention of the price. Stay tuned!

Western Digital’s new Element Play is ready to let you store 2TB worth of Full-HD movies and blast it in your living room with its crystal clear DTS 2.0 digital audio. The HDMI port built-in will allow you to hook this box up to any Full-HD TV. If the built-in 2TB storage is not enough for your crazy collection, you can plunge in a portable drive through the USB interface. The integrated USB port also allows for your cameras and camcorders to be linked up to it. Supported formats are rather standard actually, as we have RMVB, H264, and MKV. The only feature missing here is video streaming, which is quite a let-down really. But the good thing is that you don’t need an external HDD anymore, which saves up lots of space actually.

Not really the first hearing aid to sport Bluetooth, but surely a neatly designed one. With the help of its built-in support for 2.4GHz frequency wave, the ReSound Alera actually allow those who have difficulty hearing to pipe in audio from TVs, stereos, cellphones and PCs without any funky cables or fancy setup procedures, but using only the accompanying Unite wireless accessories from the package. Better still, there’s no blockage of environmental noise, so folks will know if their evil grandson is bad mouthing them while they’re fused in Inception’s 5th level. There’s no mention of the price yet, but you can have a look at the video below to judge whether it’s worth it to grab one for your grandma.

Did I mention that it’s cute? Ah, nvm… Hey it changes colors too! Maybe because it’s cute, that it won a Red Dot Design Award. This Coway AP-1008 Air Purifier has a 3-stage Hepa filtration system which removes 99.5% of airborne particles. That means dust and germs all gone, nearly. There’s also an illuminated hole that will glow in a specific colour, pending on how filthy your room is. Red indicates high levels of pollution, light purple for medium pollution, purple for low pollution and blue signifies the room is 99.5% clean. Of course that last 0.5% of air pollution could very well contain those microscopic bits that eventually get you, but for $279.99 you’re greatly increasing your odds of not getting sick.

It’s hard to come by proper multitouch screens these days, as not everyone’s making it like Apple does. But Synaptics surely can pull some nice stuns. Well what do you expect from a long-running manufacturer of touchpads? The company has announced a suite of touchscreens called the ClearPad 7200 series in sizes ranging up to 10.1-inches, each offering the 10-point multitouch capacitive.
All these glassy screens support Windows 7, besides other big boys like Android and Linux and whatnot. What this means is, this ClearPad is totally ready to pop up of nowhere and get into just about any tablets out there any time now. Synaptics has it ready for OEMs currently, so we can expect multitouch-capable devices hitting our head by the end of the year. No word on cost though, but if you were looking to buy a couple-hundred thousand of them Synaptics would surely be happy to make you a deal. Read more…

Just be careful not to pull your whole notebook along.
The 4GB model will be available from GeekStuff4U sometime in August. Yours for ¥3,200, which is about $37, and they come in 4 colors too! You can choose among black, blue, green or pink. There’s even some data encryption software that’s downloadable from Elecom’s site.

SanDisk seemed rather bold when it comes to announcing that their latest Cruzer Blade is ‘the world’s smallest USB flash drive’. But they are rather smart in choosing their words used to avoid other big boys from getting pissed, by saying that it is about the size of a standard paper clip and weighs about the same as a U.S. penny, just to give a reference.
“At half the size of some other USB drives, our compact Cruzer Blade provides consumers with highly portable storage at a great value,” said Kent Perry, director, retail product marketing, SanDisk. “The drive lets users transfer their digital data quickly between computers, and delivers a storage boost to devices such as netbooks that often need additional memory but are difficult to upgrade easily.”
It’s available in capacities ranging from 2GB to 16GB, price ranging from $14.99 to $77.99. Looks very handy for me to use in my car, as the handy drive won’t bulge out like an annoying stick.
WARNING: Not for those who will easily misplace their belongings.
