Will this be Christian Bale’s next funvee? The render here is said to be the Lamborghini Arkonian, which is a one-off prototype stunt that will appear in Christopher Nolan’s next Batman sequel. Arbonata Light Table classes up LEDs and dining rooms

Is conventional wood tablet too boring for you? If so, then you might want to add some LEDs to your tablet to give you some techno feel. Here’s one, and it’s called the Arbonata Light Table, available from nKcharms. The tablet is injected with over 1,700 LEDs arranged in the shape of a tree. According to designer Dennis Vetu, it’s some sort of metaphor for the circle of life — as he explains on the Arbonata site, “tree becomes wood, and becomes light.” Metaphoric stuff as usual, from designers. The company is said to be able to customize the design of the LED according to the customers’ request, though we can’t find any price list in the site. Right, here’s a tablet that will make iFags go ‘gaga’. We’ve seen plenty of iPhone docking stations; in fact the choices are so bizarre you’ll need a year to know all of them. But when it comes to tables that mimic the styling cues of the popular smartphone, there’s not many ‘quality’ ones that you can choose from. Today, we introduce Kyle Buckner’s iTable, something that can be considered to be in the league of its own. This rather involved docking solution combines the aesthetics of the iPhone 4 with a little bachelor-pad-of-the-future flair, allowing its user to summon a set of eight recessed speakers with a simple swipe of the hand. It’s also packing a set of four aluminium-trimmed cup holders, complete with LED lights to give your drinks a little mood lighting of their own. The thing’s all hand-made, and while it was designed with the iPhone 4 in mind, it can be built to fit your smartphone of choice. The Collector concept transforms unused microSD cards into an expandable thumb drive

Here is a concept USB drive that many might find it very welcome. If you used to have some Windows Mobile smartphone, then you’ll be familiar with microSD cards in the 1GB and 2GB size. This concept USB drive, dubbed The Collector, could potentially solve our conundrum by allowing us to toss all those thumb drives and find a use for our microSD chips that are scattered all over the place. The Collector does not have any storage of its own, but instead you can slip in up to three microSD cards. It would also combine your smaller chunks of storage into a single block, so those three 2GB scraps would become a slightly less useless 6GB drive. Efficient recycling method from Yanko. Someone must build this! SOURCE via Yanko Design Saudi Arabia does the unthinkable, plans to build a mile-tall skyscraper

Proud of your Petronas Twin Tower? Think the Burj Khalifa is very tall and crazy? Nope, these are nothing. Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, head of Kingdom Holding Company recently gave his approval for construction of what will be billed as the world’s tallest man-made structure — the Kingdom Tower. Yes, bizarre! Designed by Adrian Smith, the Kingdom Tower will be built in Saudi Arabia’s city of Jeddah. The tower will stretch one mile up into heavens and include 12 million cubic feet of space, several stories of office space, several stories for a hotel and four tiers of residential space, with the upper most tier reserved for “alternative energy generation” solutions (perhaps including a pendulum to keep the entire tower from collapsing). Right, there’s a lift in this building, which will take about 12-minutes to reach the top from the bottom. Now, can you hold your fart that long? Because I don’t think I can. What’s more, what if you’ve reached the bottom of the building ready to go home just to realize you left your phone up there. That’s about 24-minutes wasted, not including finding your phone. Now, what if you need to crap? Swivel toolboxes
March 30th, 2011
When someone mentioned a tool box, you’ll visualize it as a bulky square box, possibly very big and heavy. But not this one, the Swivel tool box that is going to hit the market. This 60-inch tool storage system contains rounded, high-strength drawers that swivel out so its owner can better-access his or her equipment. When we mentioned “high-strength”, we’re actually referring about 2-, 14- or 16-gauge steel, and the drawers are reportedly tough enough that most humans can stand on them without breaking anything. If you’ve ever owned a tool box, especially the low-end models, you know that the tracks get gummed up over time, making it more and more difficult to slide drawers open or closed. The drawers of the Swivel bench are hinged at a steel pole that is reportedly resistant to dust. And how much would this “heavy duty” tool box cost you? Between $1,000 and $5,000; a total that puts the Swivel bench squarely in the professional grade category. That’s probably a bit rich for our blood, but it won’t keep us from wanting one.
