Sony’s super-thin OLED displays
I think soon will have a display as thin as paper. Sony has presented 2 Organic EL models at the Display 2007 Expo in Japan, a 27 inch full HD (1,920×1,080) and a 11 inch WVGA model (1024 x 600). The 27 inch model is 9mm thin and the 11 inch(picture above) is only 3mm thin. Not sure when these prototypes will hit markets but Sony has confirmed the 11 inch to be available later this year, Japan first of course. Getting a thinner display helps you in saving spaces, but thin displays are more fragile and it costs you a lot. More pics after the jump.

Samsung new Auto-adjust LCD
As you know, there are many devices now comes with a LCD that can be viewed under a bright sunlight. That’s a good feature but unfortunately it tends to draw off your battery somehow. Good news that Samsung today has developed a new QVGA 2.1″ LCD display that comes with an automatic brightness adjustment technology making the LCD readable in any condition. They will soon be used in high-end cellphones, PDAs, and portable media players. The new LCD also comes with a temperature compensation sensor that will maintain a steady operational mode even if there’re changes of the exterior temperature. This Samsung new LCD will be in production in the second half of this year.

Samsung’s FullHD 22” LCD TV
Samsung offers its CX225MD, the 22” LCD TV supporting 1080p, with a 1680×1050 resolution and with a FullHD logo. You will ask why 1680 x 1050 resolutions are used in this LCD, as the minimum resolution for a FullHD is 1920×1080. Well, 1680×1050 is the WSXGA+ resolution found on many PC screens and that’s how Samsung refurbishes their LCD for PC by putting a TV tuner and an HDMI port together and you’ve got a TV, it’s a 100% PC compatible.
