Three Affordable Cars for the Techies
There are those who pride themselves on owning the latest gizmos and gadgets. You know the ones I’m talking about; they will have their name on the waiting list for that new phone/laptop/TV which hasn’t even launched yet. Cars are no different; there have been amazing innovations in car designs over the past few years, such as the BMW 7 Series which incorporates cameras which give a 360 degree view and the Mercedes E-350 which uses 70 variables to determine driver and vehicle safety.
But not everyone can afford a BMW or Merc, so unlike these superior, luxury vehicles, you don’t need to be super wealthy to enjoy the technological innovations which these three cars incorporate:
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a nice sized SUV and still has that old-school appeal combined with new-world technologies. The interior is equipped with a Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a pretty accurate voice activation system, iPod connection, DVD player, CD, radio, and a 500-watt sound system. Check out the other two after the break.
The next car on the list is the Ford Fiesta SEL, which looks like a car for a suburban housewife but has its surprises. Like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the interior houses a bluetooth phone system, but unlike the Cherokee, it also has a system which they called ‘Sync’ that can provide directions, traffic conditions, and even shows you where restaurants and gas stations are; plus it will call an emergency operator if your airbag deploys.
Finally, the Kia Optima, which boasts what they call a Uvo system “sync lite” which is an easily-understood voice activated system which doesn’t annoy you with having to repeat yourself. The heated/cooling seats are a great technology to incorporate, especially for those living in areas with extreme weather changes. The audio system which streams music is also one of the reasons this makes it onto the list of best affordable hi-tech cars.
Cars designs and technology has come a long way in the past decade or so; and even though we are yet to see time travel made possible, like Doc Brown’s DeLorean in Back to the Future, I’m sure we will see a lot more hi-tech cars in the near future.
