This new Celluon Magic Cube will let you type like a commander in Star Trek

We’ve seen plenty of sci-fi movies where the actors pressed a button, and a projection keyboard appears in front of them, and they just type away as if there’s a real keyboard. Looks cool right? Well, have you ever thought that such advance technology may actually surface in this age? Actually, this cool technology has already arrived, thanks to Celluon Magic Cube Laser Projection Keyboard and Touch Pad. Yes, real projection that projects out a virtual keyboard and touchpad which actually works!

The cute brushed aluminum box might look like a pencil sharpener, but don’t let its look fool you. The middle sphere on the Magic Cube is not a place for you to put your pencil, as it houses a lens that will project a full size keyboard and a touch pad onto any flat surface in front of it.

Magic Cube uses a laser beam to generate a full-sized perfectly operating laser keyboard that smoothly connects to mobile devices. A direction technology based on an optical recognition mechanism enables the user to tap on the projected key images while producing real tapping sounds and makes typing texts or e-mails as easy as with an ordinary keyboard.

There are two modes on this device, which is Typing or Mouse Mode. Typing Mode will allow you to type on the flat surface as if there’s a real keyboard, and Mouse Mode allows you to use your finger as a mouse rather than typing when using with a laptop. The Magic Cube can be charged via a given USB cable, and the rechargeable battery in it will allow you to type for 2 hours continuously for only RM525.

You can connect the Magic Cube to your computers via USB, or by pairing them up with the built-in Bluetooth connection, and yes, you can even connect this Magic Cube to your iOS devices via Bluetooth. There’s even a switch which allows you to easily switch from wireless connection to USB connection. The Magic Cube is compatible with all Microsoft Windows XP and above OS, Apple iOS 3.5 above, Android 2.0 above, and Linux.
