ThinkPad X1′s keyboard is spill-proof, to a certain degree of course

The IBM ThinkPad is supposed to be a considerably tough notebook for professionals that run around the world, and not too brutal like the Panasonic ToughBook. But it does have some decent level of resilient when coming to abuse.
Engadget was at Lenovo’s UK launch for the ThinkPad X1, and they did quite a stunt, which is to spill water over the keyboard. It wasn’t really a big spill, but just some steady streaming of small amount of water, but it should be sufficient to prove that the X1 is quite spill-proof.
Of course, it isn’t totally spill proof, as Lenovo mentioned that the keyboard tray can only handle 25cl of water before throwing a self-protect switch and turning the computer off. No wonder the X1 shut itself down when the gang from Engadget spill more water onto it.
I’m sure the professionals that are interested in this super slim and tough laptop will be glad to hear that this babe is also able to handle a slight spill, which should be very useful on a shaky plane.
