Here’s some nice SSD for those that are shopping for one. Patriot, the famous memory manufacture, has announced their new Torqx 2 solid state series. This new series provides improved performances over their predecessors as well as larger storage capacities. The storage device can now reach sequential write speeds of up to 230MB/s while the sustained read performance is rated at 270MB/s. As a comparison, the first generation Torqx SSD series has a similar read performance (260MB/s), but their write speeds were limited at 115MB/s, which is exactly half the write throughput of the Torqx 2. The Patriot Torqx 2 SSD series should start shipping this week in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of storage capacities with a 2.5-inch form factor.
