Toshiba reveals 7-inch LCD with integrated touch, super slim at only 1mm

Looks like Samsung’s mighty Super AMOLED Plus will soon see a new rival in this elite market of super slim and super light and less reflective LCDs. Toshiba has stepped into this demanding market with its as-yet-unnamed technology seeks improvement in a roughly similar way to Super AMOLED, by fusing the capacitive touch layer and LCD. In so doing, Toshiba claims it can produce an integrated panel just 1mm thick, which it says is less than half the thickness of a conventional LCD touchscreen. Weight is also said to be half and surface reflection is said to be reduced by 10-percent. Hopefully a head-to-head comparison between this unnamed technology and Samsung’s best and meanest will surface soon so that we can compare, and complain. The screen is said to be demonstrated next month over at LA, so until next month then.
