Asahi glass unveils world’s slimmest glass

Well boys and girls, get ready to embrace a new era where your handheld devices will get extremely slim. Yes, it might be slimmer than the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II which is about 8.49mm thick. Looks like the jokes about the next iPhone being only 109 gram, and slimmer than the current iPhone 4 by 30-percent, is no longer valid, if they incorporate this in time.
Asahi, a glass supplier to Apple’s electronics devices, has developed a thinner glass substrate for use in touchscreen displays. This new 0.28mm soda-lime glass is 15% thinner than the company’s existing offerings, and Asahi will begin mass producing it by the end of April. Just in time for prototyping the iPhone?
