Intel had a wonder Q1 profit, AMD jelly in the corner

It seems that not only Apple is enjoying this quarter, but so does Intel. Intel has reported a wonderful quarter, but wait, didn’t the company lost a big amount in the Sandy Bridge recall issue? Looks like the recall didn’t setback Chipzilla at all, as they just had their best ever quarter. The company expected to pull in roughly $11.6 billion, topping last quarter (and its previous record) by $500 million. It raked in a grand total of $12.8 billion in Q1 of 2011. About $500 million of that discrepancy can be explained by the acquisition of McAfee and Infineon, the rest is thanks to huge increases in sales across all market segments. It looks like they sold lots of Sandy Bridge processors.
