Samsung’s new Smart Fridge gets WiFi and touchscreen, only thing missing is Android!

Last time fridge that had ice cube counter is considered advance, but now they’re going to be like televisions. People are stuffing LCD screens and even WiFi into a fridge. What de? Facebook on a fridge? Man, I tell you, sneaking to the fridge for a chocolate bar is no longer fun when you see something similar like the memo above.
Samsung’s RF4289 is the kind of fridge that nerd heads and geeky mum and dad will want. It’s got WiFi with LED lighting and a frigging 8-inch LCD panel with touchscreen! Playing angry bird on the fridge? Better not.
Samsung provides quick access to “kitchen relevant applications” like Google calendar, Weatherbug forecasts, Epicurious recipes, AP news, Pandora music, and Picasa photos. You can also leave notes for the family or tap out a quick tweet should the compulsion arise.
The wireless touchscreen is available on both the RSG309 side-by-side and RF4289 four-door french door models, but only the latter has received an end of May US launch date. Just keep in mind that the suggested $3,499 retail price is exactly $500 more expensive than Samsung’s existing 28 cubic foot french door model, the touchscreen-less RF4287. It ain’t cheap to get Angry Bird on your fridge yo!
Maybe you can consider sticking an iPad 2 on your existing fridge instead, with the magical Magic Cover.
