Intel say 32nm Cloverview for tablet and 22nm Ivy Bridge for desktop coming soon
So now that Intel has rolled out its ‘highly anticipated’ Oak Trail processor, what’s next? Well, the Chipzilla has previewed its next tablet-ready chip called Cloverview, and it seemed to be rather impressive already.
PC World is reporting that Intel’s Doug Davis introduced the Atom-based Cloverview at the firm’s Developer Forum in Beijing Tuesday, touting its 32nm architecture and low power consumption.
Next up is a leaked slide showing off the 22nm version Sandy Bridge, which will be called Ivy Bridge. It seemed that the CPU will support DirectX 11 graphics independently from their embedded graphics, with USB 3.0 and 1600MHz DDR3 memory native support. Ivy Bridge is reportedly expected to arrive in the first half of 2012.
