Valve gives you a funny hat in Team Fortress 2, in exchange for donation to Japan

We see many iOS developers joining Apple’s move to donate to Japan disaster relief fund by donating all revenue of apps to Red Cross America. Now Valve is also doing a similar event. From now till April 6, players of Team Fortress 2 can buy limited edition items, and money collected from these items will go directly to Red Cross America’s Japanese disaster relief fund.

Valve is introducing three limited edition hats and two special noisemakers to the Mann Co. store. The “Humanitarian’s Hachimaki” ($7.99), the “Benefactor’s Kanmuri” ($19.99) and the most prestigious “Magnanimous Monarch” ($99.99) will be available from now through April 6. The hats can be equipped by all classes; however, they cannot be traded or used for crafting.

After April 6, none of these items will be available in any form. It’s good to see that many companies are participating in this relief fund activity for good causes.
