ViewSonic’s dual-booting Android / Windows 7 ViewPad 10 tablet now shipping

We though it’s a joke, or a prototype; but Viewsonic is going for it. Viewsonic has made their dual-booting ViewPad 10 officially available as they’re shipping it out right now. The specs might not even beat the shadow of iPad 2, but when you’re prepared to buy a tablet with Android 1.6 and Windows 7 loaded, I’m sure you won’t care about the iPad 2.
If you’ll recall, this one’s rocking a 10.1-inch touchpanel (1024 x 600), 1.66GHz Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and Android 1.6, right when everyone’s racing to throw in their Honeycomb tablet into the market. There’s also a microSD card slot, and a copy of Windows Home 7 Premium (with a 16GB SSD) or Windows 7 Professional (with a 32GB SSD). Then again, you’ll be shock to know that Viewsonic is asking for $599 and $679 for the 16GB version and 32GB version. Funny isn’t it? Well, the funniest thing is that the ViewPad 10 above is running Mac OS X.
