Kingston not giving up DDR2 market, launches the Genesis for the last cry

Every computer platform launched these days is running DDR3, and you think DDR2 is legacy and dead? Well not really, because Kingston has just announced a new DDR2 memory product. The Kingston HyperX Genesis DDR2 memory modules are now available for purchase.

These memory modules are engineered and designed to meet the most explicit needs of PC enthusiasts. Available in capacities up to 2GB, the Kingston HyperX Genesis DDR2 memory modules provide speeds up to 1.2GHz in a variety of CAS Latencies, breaching the territory of DDR3 memory’s speed. Of course, you’ll also need to have a platform with support for such high speed DDR2 in order to run them. It’ll be worth buying if your current setup is still nicely serving you, and all you need is a memory boost for newer applications. If mere memory boost is insufficient, then it’s still better to go for a new setup.
