The size might be less compact than you imagine, but it’ll do. Yamaha will be launching the new VSP-1 Voice Masking System in Japan. It’s a small speaker-like device that will mask your voice in public areas, just in case you don’t want your ex to know that you’re sitting in the next table behind that wall.
Sound masking is the addition of natural or artificial sound into an environment to cover-up unwanted sound by using auditory masking. This is in contrast to the technique of active noise control. The Yamaha VSP-1 is available in 8 different sounds to cover your conversation. What’s more, the gadget can be also arranged in different configuration and either mounted alone or in-group. Yamaha will release the VSP-1 Voice Masking System in April 2011 for 105,000 Yen ($1,276).
