Microsoft announces budget-friendly Lifecam HD-3000 webcam, Comfort and Express mice

Here’s a more budget-friendly 720p webcam from Microsoft, and it’s called the new LifeCam HD-3000, if you don’t really fancy the 1080p LifeCam Studio and want to save some bucks from shaving some ‘p’s. It goes for a mere $39.99, a big shave from the $100 for half the P that you get.

Also being launch is a trio of mice. Firstly would be the $19.95 Express Mouse, which according to Microsoft has ‘both the looks and the moves’, probably because of the funky look it has with the offset cord, and your choice of six colors ranging from “Hibiscus Red” to “Dahlia Pink.”

For those who’d rather stick with something less-flowery and more ‘formal’, there’s the Comfort Mouse 3000 for the same price, similar features in a design less likely to stand out in the conference room. Or, throw up another $10 and get the $29.95 Comfort Mouse 6000. It gives up the ambidextrous pretences in favour of a more form-fitting shape and five whole buttons, though I think some people won’t mind that shape. Looks very much like the Steelseries Xai, except for the coating surface.
