iPad 2 rolls into production

After waves and waves of rumours regarding the new features of Apple’s next iPad, supposedly the iPad 2, we now have news that they have indeed started mass production of the iPad 2.
This news comes from sources close to production partner Foxconn, whom have told Wall Street Journal that the follow-up to Apple’s surprisingly successful iPad tablet has entered production. However, Apple itself is being predictably tight lipped regarding any information about its new product.
Specifications of the new device are still very much shrouded in conjecture and rumour, although a dual-core A5 ARM-chip looks set to be at the heart of whatever Apple has planned. The WSJ’s sources also claim that the new device will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, and that it will also have more RAM and a more powerful graphics chip.
What can be safely predict is that Steve Jobs won’t be unveiling the new iPad to the Apple crazed public, as he’s temporarily left the company on a medical leave of absence. Though, I won’t be surprised to see Steve Jobs being present by then anyway, since he seemed rather fit to attend an evening dinner with US President Barack Obama.
Well, we may probably get a memo very soon regarding an Apple event.
