HP TouchPad will have Kindle app and Skype at launch

HP didn’t really demonstrate much of their webOS tablet, the TouchPad, at the webOS event. However, they did mention a few important keys of the tablet, and part of it is collaboration with Amazon to develop a new tablet-friendly Kindle app for webOS, which will obviously let you “buy once, read everywhere” like how Amazon says. This will be the same approach with RIM’s PlayBook it seemed. Great news for Kindle owners, and especially that the app will be free.

What’s more, HP also confirmed that it’s working with Skype on video calling, which will presumably be included with the tablet at launch. Now that’s great news.
