Solar Wind Bridge concept a good idea, or a new way to suicide with higher efficiency

Can you say that Francesco Colarossi, Giovanna Saracino and Luisa Saracino are three greedy men? I would prefer to call them one with very big ambition. Why just use solar power or wind power, when you can use both, together? Isn’t that more efficient?
As part of an Italian design contest to re-imagine a decommissioned bridge, they’ve come up with this Solar Wind Bridge concept, which will have solar cells embedded in the roadway, and an array of 26 wind turbines underneath, which the designers say could produce enough energy combined to power 15,000 homes.
To make the bridge even more ‘green’, the designers have even included a “green promenade” that would run alongside the road, which they suggest could be used to grow fruits and vegetables that’d then be sold to folks driving by, though I’m not sure that’s a very fancy idea. Nobody wants congestions on the bridge, do they? Selling veges and fruits to people who want to suicide? Let’s just hope the wind isn’t that strong to carry the bridge away.
