Verizon’s CDMA iPhone 4 has tethering!

When iPhone 4 is launched, there’s no mobile hotspot function (tethering), and this has been something that US consumers have been crying out for since the original iPhone debuted on AT&T roughly 4 years back. Now that Verizon has launched their iPhone 4, there’s more reason for those of you in US with an existing iPhone 4 to cry out loud. CDMA isn’t the only thing the Verizon iPhone 4 has that the rest of you don’t. They now also have mobile hotspot function.
Verizon revealed at launch that the CDMA version of the iPhone 4 will feature WiFi Hotspot like internet tethering for up to 5 devices, something Android OS has had for quite a while. It looks like it’s built into the CDMA iOS 4.2.5 and not a standalone app so no telling when it will come to the rest of the world. Probably won’t.
