Apple App Store For Mac Goes Live, Angry Bird the King?

Have a Mac? Today might be a fun day with your Mac, mate. That’s because the App Store for Mac is live as of last night. Starting with around 1000 free and paid titles which will certainly grow in insane numbers the following months, the Mac App store delivers a familiar interface to iOS device users for downloading, browsing and updating new apps, so you shouldn’t be lost there later.

The App Store will have apps such as the popular DAM Aperture 3 for US$80 (cheaper than it’s RRP) and the programs from the iLife suite, as standalone products. Not surprised, the top selling app on the app store at the time of writing is Angry Birds for Mac. It seemed like everyone loves shooting at something. At US$5 for an introductory period, those of you who are not content with destroying miniature pigs on your relatively tiny handhelds, you can fling that fat red bird in all its glory on your brand new 27inch iMac, complete with sounds to boot. That’s about the same price as Angry Bird at Windows.

Alright, I’ll be back to scouting for free apps again. Bye.
