Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 officially launched

Well, it’s a no brainer that Nvidia will be launching the rest of the GeForce 500 series after the introduction of the marvellous GTX 580, but nobody knew it’ll be that fast. Just weeks after the launch of the GTX 580, Nvidia has hurriedly launched their ‘downgrade’ USD349 GTX 580, called the GTX 570.

Following the tradition of the x80 and then the x70 and then the x60, and the list goes on; it seemed that the GeForce 500 series will also be following the same trend. However, it’s important to note that despite the GTX 570 being a soul successor for the GTX 470, the specs of 480 CUDA cores running at 1464MHz, a 732MHz graphics clock, and 1.25GB of GDDR5 memory hurtling along at an effective rate of 3.8GHz makes it more like a GTX 480 successor. Near identical performance, yet quieter, cooler, and more power efficient, this truly is what the GTX 480 is supposed to be. It’s nice that Nvidia managed to achieve that by using identical PCB design and the same Vapor cooling system as the GTX 580 yet slowing down the tessellation monster to lower the price, yet having identical performance with the GTX 480. It’s also important to note that the GTX 570 only needs a pair of 6-pin auxiliary power connectors, thus making it less power hungry.

Have a read of the reviews for this baby GTX 580 that many recommended, though we would still remind you that AMD’s top-tier bad dog is also just around the corner, so you should probably hold back abit and spend your Christmas budget wisely.
