Good day boys and girls. Today we have some great news for those of you that have been holding your horses on a new gaming rig this upcoming festive season. This will probably help you out in deciding what the best component for your gaming system is.

Rumor has it that AMD’s flagship HD6900 will be announced sometime in the second week of December. There’s no mention of availability, but Unika seemed to have the product ready for launch, so there’s a big chance that the card will be available before the holidays. The retail price is at RMB 3,999.

The rumor also stated that the single-gpu card’s performance is somewhat 50-percent more than the HD6870/HD6850. If this is correct, then we might see some very nice battle of the throne once again. Nvidia’s refined-Fermi GTX 580 is around 38-percent to 45-percent faster than the HD6870, we might see HD6970 edging out the GTX 580 by a slight margin. If this is true, then AMD’s upcoming King Cayman HD6970 might even surpass their previous flagship dual-gpu solution Radeon HD5970.

Oddly, after looking at the picture, the card doesn’t seem to support 3 or 4-way Crossfire. D5970HDthat’s a rather odd thing, but we’ll know once the card is officially launched in the upcoming weeks.
