The Boxee Box gets unboxed by iFixit

The Boxee Box by D-Link was just officially launched not too long ago, and it’s already been tamed by the folks over at iFixit. The Boxee Box has pretty much the same function as the Google TV, which is streaming videos from the net. So, the hardware doesn’t different a lot really.

Apparently, they have the same processor at 1.2 GHz, but slightly different Intel chipset. The Boxee has the Intel CE4110 while the Google TV has the CE4150. Inside the Boxee Box includes a 1GB of RAM, 1GB of flash memory, and a digital-to-analog audio converter to allow for 1080p video out of the HDMI while still using legacy audio hardware. Surprisingly, majority of the Boxee Box’s big box space inside is used for the heat sink and fan that will chill the processor and chipset.
