AirPrint’s future not yet over, says Steve Jobs.

AirPrint’s future not yet over, says Steve Jobs.

Just because AirPrint was missing in some developer’s iOS 4.2, doesn’t mean it’s been pulled away. Well, at least that’s what Steve Jobs said, because he was asked by one disgruntled user to clarify that.

“AirPrint has not been pulled. Don’t believe everything you read.”

We’ll only know for real whether AirPrint has been ditched when iOS 4.2 gets released tomorrow. But if you desperately needs AirPrint to print something wirelessly or to show it off to your non-iFag friends, Mac developer Steven Troughton-Smith has managed to find a way to re-enable the service in the released version of Mac OS X v10.6.5. It won’t be easy, because you’ll need to pull some files from a pre-release version of that version.
