Bose VideoWave Entertainment System sounds very promising

Bose has a new toy for your living room. It’s called the Bose VideoWave Entertainment System, and it’ll merge sound and picture like never before, or so they say, and delivering cinematic performance from invisible speakers built into an HD display. This integrated system also eliminates a roomful of speakers, wires and complexity. The VideoWave consists of 46-inch 1080p LCD TV, a separate console connected by a proprietary Bose cable, an iPod dock, and a remote control. The system provides a total of 16 speakers, which include six subwoofers and a new Bose-developed technology called PhaseGuide that sends high-frequency sound from the set to every corner of the room, creating sound that originates from the TV but that you hear coming from around and behind you. The Bose VideoWave Entertainment System retails for $5,349.

Apple TV can play 1080p content from iTunes, but still only outputs 720p

The story here is the latest Apple TV (the black one) is able to accept Full HD videos (1080p movies content) coming in from iTunes. But that’s it. The story stops there. That’s because the 1080p content will still be downscaled to 720p on your screen. What a bummer. Why doesn’t Apple just enable 1080p content playing? Overheating issue? Well at least the good news here is that you don’t have to reconvert your 1080p glory porns to 720p. Perhaps the jailbreak community will be able to let us does just that?
