Nvidia launches GeForce GT430, nobody’s impressed

Fermi has been out for quite some time now, but we’ve yet to see it entering the low-end budget lineup. But now, Nvidia is completing their whole range of Fermi cards on each and every corner, but announcing this 96 CUDA core-equipped GT 430.
Once a very hot card that requires a fridge to chill it, is now entering the low-end segment with a simple cooling solution of a tiny fan. But this ‘cheapo’ card still comes with a huge smack of copper heatsink, which is the first I’ve ever seen on low-end cards. Guess Fermi is still feeling hot these days.
This new youngest sibling of Fermi has a TDP of 49W, residing on a 5.7-inch reference board, and single-slot cooler design that looks massive for a sub-$100 card. Spec wise, they look decent, but still they’re getting pawned by AMD’s similarly priced Radeon HD5670. Just make me ponder why anybody would still camp on the green side, when the red dark force is the obvious way to go.
