Unique and refreshing marketing is always a welcome, but bizarre ones are rarely pulled off. Here’s an example of bizarre marketing strategy, and it’s from Audi. Called “The Audi Spectacle”, it’s a campaign presented by the Access ad agency, and they somehow reinvented the concept of the billboard, and moved it up. Way up! Their idea here is the famous four rings taking over some of the world’s most iconic landmarks.

The Brooklyn Bridge in New York, Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia, Tower Bridge in London, and the Rialto Bridge in Venice have been presented as “potential” candidates for the advertising treatment. The idea is magnificent and mind boggling, but it REALLY is mind boggling. Attaching your advertising tools, and a huge and heavy one, to global treasures of multi nationals ain’t going to be easy feat. How are you going to put it up in the first place? And how are you going to change the ‘real’ cars, or are you going to put them there for ten years? Will it fall down and crash on an ‘innocent’ Japanese whaling ship?

Well, this is still a concept after all. But seeing that I can already point out so many questions, I doubt it’ll get the green lights. Yes, you may be able to do it in a national park, but on a bridge? I don’t think so.
