They said that it’s done to celebrate the marque’s 75th anniversary, but who knows, they might just be jealous of Porsche’s 918 Spyder. I mean, usually when you’re celebrating an anniversary, don’t you go and order a cake or something?

Ok, let’s cut the joke and have a look at this new sexy concept from the panther onca. Jaguar has revealed the C-X75 Concept car at the Paris Motor Show. It’s a range-extended electric supercar, which they said to look forward to the future yet honouring Jaguar’s heritage and design. It’s a blend of both classic yet futuristic technology. Well, the future is electric, so this supercar is expected to be electric powered.

“The C-X75 is a tribute to the people who shaped the iconic Jaguars that are revered to this day. By making it an innovative test-bed for the technologies of tomorrow, it also ensures that our reputation for engineering excellence will continue for another 75 years and beyond.”
Mike O’Driscoll, Managing Director, Jaguar Cars

It features four electric motors producing 195 horsepower at each wheel, along with two micro-gas turbines that – in theory – charges the batteries. Top speed goes to 205mph (330kmh), and has a projected combined range of 560 miles – enough to drive from London to Berlin on a single tank – or when in Track mode provide supplementary power directly to the electric motors. The four electric motors provide torque-vectored, all-wheel drive traction and grip, essential in a car that produces 580kW (778bhp) and 1600Nm (1180lb ft) of torque.

Now the funny thing is that Jaguar says it has no plans to produce the car. Ironic isn’t it, showing off a splendid concept with delicious numbers, teasing the public, and finally decided to be a one-off show thing. This would be a worthy successor to the notorious XJ220 thought.
