The ‘one more thing’ at last week’s Apple conference is the new Apple TV. The Apple TV is a ‘very’ tiny block of matte black device which will stream 720p movies and drama to your home TV for a very cheap price. No 1080p contents thought. The shape looks somewhat rather identical to the original Apple TV. Well, that’s the be expected.

The ‘block’ has HDMI for your television, Ethernet for connectivity, optical audio, and USB plugs. All this is at the back of the block, so the front looks matte-ly clean. There’s also 802.11n Wi-Fi feature if cables are too ugly for your concept living room. There’s no local storage, which differentiates this block from the old block. The rental contents you can get from is the ‘cloud’, thought Zeus won’t be in charge of kush. However, you can also stream from your computer, which makes this the best thing for your living room.

Those new streaming HD TV rentals from ABC and Fox will be a mere 99 cents, while first run HD movies will be a less thrilling $4.99. Other services include Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and Mobile Me, along with Rotten Tomatoes integration in the movie catalogue. Nice!

Now the fun part. With iOS 4.2 coming in November, you can also stream contents from your iPad to your Apple TV using the AirPlay feature. Cool right? That’s not the only fun part. This tiny black box only cost $99 and will ship in three weeks’ time! Somehow Apple has given you the best thing for your living room, doesn’t it? The only killer point is no 1080p, which means you can totally forget about this new Apple TV right now. What a bummer Steve Jobs!
