OLED has begun its wide use in the smartphone and camera platform, but TVs and computer displays has yet to embrace this wonderful technology. But LG has decided to be the first to jump into this ‘mainstream’ market by stealing its own OLED thunder and plunge them into a 31-inch monitor. LG plans to show off its latest prototype 0.11-inch thick 31-inch 3D OLED display at IFA this week. But the sheer ‘fatness’ of the display is not the only selling point, as the display also has a crazy refresh rate of ‘600Hz’. I mean, is that really necessary?

But this 31-inch OLED display will not be shining alone. LG will also be showing off its ‘human size’ 0.35-inch thick LCD display.
