Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept lights up the stage of Paris Motor Show

It’s been a while since Lamborghini introduce a new model to their rather short list of cars. No, I don’t consider the one-off Reventon to be part of the main lineup, since it’s so limited. Lamborghini has said some time ago that the Gallardo and Murcielago will see their end-of-life very soon, as Lamborghini refreshes their design cues and introduce the new Sesto Element Concept, which will showcase the future design cues of Lamborghini’s new replacement for the Gallardo and Murcielago. Of kush, this new Sesto Element Concept, which has been named after the sixth element of the periodic table, will have a big shoe to fill, with such classics as the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago, Gallardo and Reventon each holding its well-earned place in the annals of supercardom. The Sesto Element Concept is officially unveiled at an evening event held by the Volkswagen Group in Paris. Read more…

Nintendo 3DS ships in Japan February 26, US and Europe in March

Nintendo just pronounced a February 26 ship date in Japan for ¥25,000 (about $298). It’ll then ship in the US and Europe but with no mention of price, yet. Launch colors are aqua blue or cosmo black. There’s no mention about the other colors. At a press event in Japan, Nintendo demonstrated the ability to take your picture using the 3DS’ front-facing camera and then automatically converting the image into a Mii — you can edit it too using Mii Studio on the 3DS. You can even combine two photos into a single image if you choose. Images can then be exported as QR codes in wireless “tag mode”, or as a file to the bundled 2GB SD card. Read more…

Nokia old fags rejoice as N8 ships, clean your fingers first!

Nokia’s N8 is now shipping to those of you who pre-ordered. It may not be the device that’ll make you smash your beloved BlackBerry, iPhone, or Android phone but hopefully the gorgeous specs on paper should be enough to make some decent upsets, and that the significantly enhanced Symbian^3 OS should do some decent tricks to your ‘oh-so-dinosaur-age’ S60. Yes, don’t forget that amazing 12-Megapixel sensor with Carls Zeiss, and the HDMI out. Finally, a ‘somewhat decent’ touchscreen (cross fingers) smartphone from Nokia that you can fool around with your fingers. And not feel ashamed when the lady next to you takes out her iPhone 4. Denon RCD-N7 does AirPlay, but needs $49

Denon RCD-N7 does AirPlay, but needs $49

Denon showed off their new lineup during last week’s CEDIA show, and among them stands one RCD-N7, which is able to play along with Apple’s latest AirPlay technology. The $599 unit coupled with a pair of $199 SC-N7 speakers features an iPhone dock (or USB jack) for local music sourcing. Otherwise, it’ll stream audio from the likes of Rhapsody, Napster, Pandora and Last.fm. There’s even a Party Mode Plus setting for a five-system multi-zone setup scattered throughout the home, all managed by Denon’s new iPod / iPhone / iPad Remote App. Look for it to hit shelves in October. One sad thing is, if you are an Apple fan and wants it to play along with AirPlay, you’ll need to fork out additional $49.

Panasonic Toughbook S9 the world's lightest 12.1-inch laptop with a DVD drive

When one says tough, you’d think of the massive size of the muscle gained to look tough, and some time act tough. Cars gain massive weight to be tough, same goes to guys. But you can’t say the same for girls. Well, here goes a story of Panasonic’s Toughbook, which is tough as we all know. But strangely, like girls, they lose weight!

New Kobo eReader gets wireless connection and faster processor

When Kobo launched their e-reader back in summer, it wasn’t that appealing as it was missing quite a few things. Sound not very justifying for the $150 that you paid. But now they’ve refreshed it with some new features, and it’s cheaper too, by $10. The new Kobo Wireless eReader adds Wi-Fi into the gang, enabling on-device book download whenever you’re in range of a suitably accommodating hotspot. There’s also a new processor to speed things up, but that particular model does not fall into the ‘new and cheaper’ model. You’ll only get to know of the price once it starts shipping on November 1, with three colors to choose from! Good news is that, you can start pre-ordering yours today at your nearest Borders bookstore.

Apple TV gets teardown, shares similar parts to iPad

Like all electronic devices these days, the Apple TV gets its fair share of teardown by the itchy hands of iFixit gang. The teardown reveals an 8GB of storage provided by a Samsung K9LCG08U1M NAND Flash chip, which is the same one found in the iPad. There’s also the exact same markings on its Apple A4 processor as the iPad and new iPod touch, K4X2G643GE (not the same as the iPhone 4, as it turns out), the exact same Broadcom BCM4329XKUBG 802.11n WiFi / Bluetooth / FM chip as the iPad, and at 256MB, the same amount of RAM. That’s a lot of ‘same found in iPad’. IFixit noted that there are solder pads near the side of the logic board, which look to be a perfect fit for an Apple dock connector. See how the teardown goes over at iFixit.
