1.8-Meter Runner Gundam from Chara Hobby 2010
I supposed many gunpla should try to do this. Somehow bring ‘recycling’ to a new level of ‘fun-ness’. Spotted at the recent Chara Hobby 2010, was a 1/10 scale, 1.8 meter tall “Runner Gundam”, constructed entirely from used runners of Gunpla kits.
Named ‘RGリサイクルグレード1/9.9 ランナーガンダム’, which means Recycled Grade 1/9.9 Runner Gundam, the creator Hirotyun insist that its exact scale is 1/9.9. Well no matter how accurate you want the scaling and measurement to be, the sad truth is that it’s still taller than me, as 1.8 meters is its head height to toe, and the full height with the rifle included is 2.9 meters, or 3.35 meters with the base included.
According to the introduction of this “statue”, it was made for Gunpla 30th Anniversary celebration, and is consists of disposed runners from Gundam RX-78-2 kits connected by super glue. No painting is applied. The total time used to finish the work is 300 hours. How many runners in total were used for the entire “statue” is unknown.
