Microsoft to improve Xbox Live voice comms

Xbox Live gamers worldwide, please party. It’s time to rejoice, as Microsoft will be tweaking the console’s voice chat codec in an upcoming system update to allow a higher bit rate streaming through their VOIP protocol, which hopefully will result in better (clearer) audio. What was originally designed to run on 64k internet connections with the original Xbox, is finally catching up with our broadband times. Microsoft finally sees the ‘slowpokeness’ that they’re having. This update might come in this fall, possibly alongside the retail launch of Kinect. This time you won’t miss the whining of that fat boy when you pawned him in Halo.
