Pioneer KODO XW-NAW1 iPod dock goes to the wall

We’ve seen a fair amount of iPod docks that’s flickering around the market place, ranging from cheapo China-brand companies with their badly assembled and painted products, to premium glossy docks from certain companies that charges you thousands just because of that few Swarovski crystals that they stuck in there. But Pioneer plans to seal that gap, with their KODO XW-NAW1 which slides in between these two categories. Decent product from a reputable company, sold at a reasonable price.
Since Pioneer assume that all their buyers will stick this dock onto the wall like a lizard, they’ve made it as ‘thin’ as possible, with a ‘thinness’ of merely 83mm. But for those that have extra space on their table, Pioneer has also added a matching stand if table-mounting is your taste.
“The latest addition to the KODO range perfectly combines flexibility with superb sound,” said Dominic Feeney, Product Executive at Pioneer GB Limited. “At an affordable price, the versatile and stylish XW-NAW1 will conveniently accommodate any living space and ensure iPod and iPhone users receive the highest sound quality.”
Compatible with iPhones and iPods, the 30W stereo speaker has touch sensor controls and charges docked iDevices—even outputting video thanks to the component video port. Fully equipped with a component video output, music is not the only source of entertainment with the KODO XW-NAW1. Simply connect the speaker to a larger screen and playback videos stored on an iPod or iPhone. On sale in the UK from September, it’ll cost £199—international launch details expected soon.
