Now you can shoot your home-made blockbuster with your DSLR the pro-way.

Redrock Micro, the company that develops accessories for movie cameras, has also released new add-ons for the latest DSLR-cameras that are capable of shooting HD-quality videos. Their latest range of products called “Nano” kits will turn your camera into a film-making rig, and cheap too!
Cameras are designed to shoot single static photos; thought advanced technology has introduced image stabilizers. But that does not help the cameras from taking quality videos too. A movie camera needs to be focused and moved around as you shoot your plot, which is rather ‘tricky’ since DSLR cameras aren’t light to begin with. What’s more, we’re holding it with our two hands, that aren’t mechanical machines and bound to move no matter how you control it.
The new Redrock kits are here to solve this problem. It come in three main flavours: A grip, which is a modest handle that screws into the tripod-mount, a pair of chest braces which let you grip the camera with one hand and focus with the other, and a couple “low-down” kits which put handles on the top and sides so you can lug the camera like a briefcase or an underwater-style rig. The chest rigs come with eye-pieces for the rear LCD-screen to allow live-view-shooting outside.
The prices range from something just over $100 to under $500, depending on your setup. For example, the amount of rods, grips and pads are hanging off the ‘stick-insect’ structures. This might abit pricey, but in the overpriced world of movie-cameras, you should consider that a bargain.
