SkinnyBytes Releases New Power-over-Ethernet Computers

Now this is not something that you see every day. Talk about innovative ideas and the engineering behind it. SkinnyBytes has unveiled a new lineup of PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) Computer, which is available in 8.9-inch to 18.5-inch models. PoE is not new, but you hardly find anyone that implements this. Power-over-Ethernet computers are the ultimate Eco-Friendly computers consuming 90% less power than a traditional computer, drastically reducing your energy bills. Also, if this goes with the new CAT E6 standard that Samsung and Co. tries to push, we’ll have a standard cable for nearly everything soon. Network data, video and audio data, and power all using the same cable. Sounds like heaven for cable management perfectionist. All of these PoE computers are compatible with IEEE standard 802.3at for Power-over-Ethernet, which describes providing up to 30 watts of power to a device over a standard network cable. What’s more, these computers come with a touchscreen display that makes these systems ideal for business and schools. It’ll be good to mass produce them for front desk computers and cashiers.
